Before becoming the part-time physical education teacher in 2012, I was a substitute teacher for other staff and felt very fortunate to be able to do so. As the PE teacher, I hope that my students learn about the importance of being active and healthy while having fun.
All three of my children have attended St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic School. When my daughter was in fourth grade, I volunteered three days a week in her classroom, which was combined with the fifth grade. From there, I got my substitution certification and started substituting three years ago.
I have a four-year degree from St. Cloud State University in child and adolescent psychology and a minor in special education. I worked in special education for 10 years in the Minneapolis schools before staying at home and doing in-home daycare for seven years.
I believe that God put me on the path to work at St. Max and feel very blessed to have the opportunity to work and play with all of the great children and staff here.
