May 22

 Parents,

We are in the home stretch.  There will be lots of review of math skills, comprehension skills and spelling skills in the next two weeks.  It’s exciting to see how far each student has come as a reader, writer and speller.  We are breaking up the end of year testing with extra recess breaks.

Last week we looked at the MyPyramid Food Guide and discussed healthy food choices.  Sometimes Foods are sweets and snacks that should only be eaten occasionally.

Parents,

The students learned about dental health this week.  I hard boiled eggs and soaked them in Coca-Cola overnight. They were an unsightly brown color.  The students used only water and then water and toothpaste to remove the stain from the shell.  They demonstrated the use of floss on a hair comb.  Hopefully, this will ignite the desire to brush and floss without parental reminders!

Thank you for the plant and candy.  I had a wonderful birthday!
